Community Collage Project- Revisited

The “Community Collage Project- Revisited explores the art practice of collage making. 3 teachers from the Mental Health Awareness Gallery speak on different approaches as to the collage making process through demonstration and imagination prompts. The video not only allows audience members to gain insight as to the collage making process but also see it play out in action by students who practice these new skills. Fitting background music sets the tone throughout the film as it gradually evolves into a video collage itself.
Stream of Consciousness

The “Stream of Consciousness” series uses abstract and subjective imagery draws viewers into various places while each unique narration invites listeners to experience life in another person’s shoes for a few minutes. Each vignette tells the tale of a specific character and offers a glimpse into their reality.
Her Garden
8:30-10:00 pm
Her Garden is a romantic stream-of-consciousness experimental feature film infused with themes that focus on mental illness, mermaids, and love. The story takes place circa 3am in the mind of a woman who is having difficulty sleeping. As she tosses and turns, she reflects on her childhood in a poor urban area being raised by her widowed mother while unfairly tasked with looking after her mentally ill aunt. The lines between reality and imagination blur as she drifts in and out of sleep, consciousness, dreams, and memories trying to find stable ground amid grief and hope.
